Diet Bet: Pot is $46,150

I am doing my first diet bet which is hosted by Olivia and Hannah from the biggest loser a couple seasons ago.  In this bet there are 1846 participants who each put 25.00 dollars in.  The goal is to lose 4% of your body weight in 28 days.  So last night I weighed in at 222.2...(i know)... so this means I have to lose 8.8 lbs to get my money back and maybe even more!  Depending on how many people can reach that 4%, the pot will be divided up evenly.  You can try out a diet bet here.

And you had to include one whole body shot standing on the scale

I have been proud to say that last week I went to the gym Tuesday - Saturday and then back again today :)  I been been going on the treadmill for at least 45 minutes doing the weightloss mode which has you walk at different inclines. I definitely break a sweat!  Saturday before work this is how many calories I burned :)

Not bad before working 10 hours of serving tables.

This week is finals week.  I just took my medication administration test out where we had to act like we were a nurse going into a patients room and give them their medications.  I was a nervous wreck.  Of course when it comes to insulin, who pricks their finger with the needle? this girl.  They still passed me :)

Back to studying... on Friday I will officially be done with the quarter and have 2 weeks of not worrying about school!!

It's finally above 30 degrees!!

It was such a nice day out!  Too bad most of the day I was stuck in school. I had a good day at school though, so I can't complain :)

After school I was debating.. go to the gym, go home, gym, home... I made the right decision and took my large ass to the gym!  Although after being on the treadmill for 20 minutes-facing outside-with no music... I got sick of it and decided to go home to take Panzer (my doberman) for a walk.

That was the best decision E.V.E.R!  He is a 6 month old pup, and since we live in Minnesota, we didn't take him on many (or any) walks during the winter (most of his life).  So, I knew this wasn't going to be the smoothest walk, but he did well none the less.  I had many routes in my head that I was thinking about going on... I finally ended up going around the neighborhood, then onto a walking/biking trail near my house.  Once on the trail, I wanted to see how far I could run.  I am not a runner.  I repeat.  NOT A RUNNER.  I made a goal on the trail (not exactly sure how far it was) but it was to the first stop sign.  I made it and felt like I could go farther!  I turned at that point because the trail was getting really wet and muddy (from all the melting snow.. holla!)  So I ran back to the beginning of the trail.  It.Was.Awesome.  I had such a great running high, that lasted most of the night!  Now, hopefully I can do that again.

Once at home my husband wanted to take the bike out for the first ride of the season.  When you are a biker and you have to put the bike away for 6 months of the year... you get the itch right around 30 degrees.  It was around 37 degrees and we did it.

Note: I had 3 tank tops, 1 sweatshirt and 2 fleece jackets, 2 pairs of sweat pants and 1 pair of jeans.  Bandana to cover the ears, scarf and gloves.  It was cold, but it was awesome.

My husband is a badass.  Take note of the snow :)

Next week is finals for school.  I have to do a medical administration test out... (pretend to give meds to a patients in front of my instructors, and hope I do all the steps involved.. and know everything about the meds.)  I also have a final in Nursing Foundations, Comprehensive Pharmacology Lecture and Lab, and Anatomy and Physiology final... kill me now.  This weekend if I am not working, I will be studying.  Next Friday will be awesome!  I get two weeks off then back in school.

That is everything I had to bring to school today... two bags for books and binders... gym bag, purse/lunchbox... and the furball in the left hand corner is just Sadie.  She wasn't moving, and I was late to class.

Well, I can't be happy about the nice weather for long... the news is on in the background right now... and there is ANOTHER winter weather advisory... ugh.. "honey, when can we move to Florida again?"  This weather is getting exhausting.

Have a good weekend!!!

Better Than Sex Cake

So I accidently bought sweetened condensed milk one day when I needed evaporated milk... the cans look way too similar.  So I decided to make some Better Than Sex Cake!! (or what I told lil Nate... Better Than "playing video games" Cake)  It turned out way too good, that I had to throw half of it away because I kept eating it.  I usually do this with sweets.  This way I don't eat it all.  Nate usually doesn't help me with the sweets in the house (unless it's chocolate chip cookies).  I don't know how he can keep his self control.. something I will never have.

Here is the recipe.. via pictures!

The Ingredients:
1 Can Diet Coke
1 Jar Hot fudge topping
1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Container of Cool Whip
1 box cake mix (I chose German Chocolate Cake)

I never follow the directions on the back of cake mix boxes anymore.  Just add 1 can of diet coke or I have used diet dew to the cake mix and voi-la! Cake without added fat or calories :)

It looks really fizzy once you start pouring it in.

Looks normal onces it's all mixed up.

Bake the cake following the directions on the back of the box.  I poured my cake batter into a 9x13 pan and baked at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.  Next time I think I am going to do a 9x9 pan instead because my cake was really thin.

Once cake is out of the oven, poke holes in it with a wooden spoon handle or anything you can find... I used the other end of a beater from an electric beater (if that makes any sense at all..)

Pour sweetened condsensed milk over the cake making sure it goes into the holes. Make sure it completely cools after this step.

Once completely cooled spread the chocolate fudge over the cake.

Then add whipped cream :)

My personal touch... crushed up oreos!! And BAM! You have some delicioso cake that you won't be able to stop eating until you throw half away.

On a serious note:

I know I havent been posting much this year.  School has taken over my life, and I am struggling with personal issues I have been wanting to share, but haven't decided if I will or not.  I am going to contine to try to stay positive, try to keep up on my studies, and try to tell myself that I am doing all this to better myself.  The quarter is almost over (thank God) and I will have a couple week break.. so hopefully I will be blogging most of those days while trying to get my sanity back :)
